O.W.L.s readathon update

Hello witches or wizards,

How are y’all doing? It’s finally time for my readathon update, just telling you how my reading has been.

I’ve read two books so far, Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

The two of them were great books but if I had to choose I’d say TSHOEH is my favorite of the two. I loved how you learned what it was like to be a woman and part of the LGBTQ+ community in the 1950’s and what it was like behind the scenes of the film business back then. There was a major plot twist in TSHOEH that I did not see coming, I really loved this book, but at one point during one of the marriages it got a little “boring” I wanna say. It’s just that she wasn’t in the film business as much anymore and so I got less interested but there was still this mystery that kept me reading which did not disappoint me at all. And I loved the romance in this book, like, really loved.

My experience with Everything, Everything was totally different but not in a bad way. I had already seen the movie so I knew what was going to happen but it was still worth the read. I’m more attached to this story now that I’ve read the book. I loved Maddy, Olly and Carla. The titles of the mini chapters were great, they were one of the things that just made the book a little better. Just like The Sun Is Also A Star, this was a quick read and the way Maddy sees the world made me think of how beautiful it is.

I changed Beauty Queens with The Opposite of Always because I’m participating in another reading challenge from HWC Fierce Readers Or Not (if you speak French go and check it out πŸ˜‰ ) and so I can “kill two birds with one stone” I think it is? I’m about 150 pages in and got the feeling I’m going to love it. This book is hilarious, I promise πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ I haven’t finished it yet (I’m not even half-way through) but I think I’m going to think it’s underrated (if you can follow πŸ˜‰ ).

That’s it for this update! Let me know in the comments how your readathon is going and if you couldn’t participate just let me know how your reading is overall!

My Harry Potter Bookshelf

IMG_6846

Hello witches or wizards,

Today I’m presenting to you my Harry Potter bookshelf (I know, what a surprise, the title didn’t give it away at all πŸ˜‰ ).

So let’s start off with the books:

IMG_6848

First of, I know, I know, I don’t have the Crimes of Grindelwald screenplay. Who am I?! I’m just afraid that it won’t fit next to my other books, but I will buy it someday (I hope). There’s a second copy of the chamber of secrets on top of the rest of the books for no reason at all. I found it once, took it and put it on top of the books. Now it’s there and it doesn’t bother me, so I leave it there.

Now, we move on to the wands:

Of course I have Hermione’s wand, who’s shocked? No one, as I expected πŸ˜€ . I love that girl sooooo much, and her wand is beautiful! And then I have my wand, the one I got at the Universal Studio’s. I’ll cherish them both forever. πŸ˜‰

Next, we have the chocolate frog cards:

IMG_6851

When I bought Chocolate Frogs I was so happy because I got great cards as you can see. The ones I’m the most grateful for are the one with Helga Hufflepuff (of course, as a proud Hufflepuff πŸ˜‰ ) on it and the Albus Dumbledore one (of course, as a proud Hogwarts student πŸ˜‰ ). And it was actually quite interesting to receive the Bertie Bott card because not a lot of people have it.

After that there is a chocolate frog “box” (I don’t know how to call it):

I really like this one, it’s made out of ceramic and it’s really, really nice. I don’t have much to say about it. Of course it didn’t come with a chocolate frog or card in it, it’s just a display peace. But a really nice one.

And, lastly, I just have some bits and bots to show you that make up some of the details:

At the far left you can see a book holder (in the picture at the beginning of the post you can see that it’s on both sides of the books). When I saw it in the shop, I was thinking: “These ones are nice πŸ˜€ “. And when I was putting my shelf together it ended up there which I think is great because it fits well with the theme.

Next we have a keychain of Hermione that my mom managed to put there. I love Hermione and love this keychain so I’m really happy with it there.

Then we have the Ollivander box my wand came in. I wanted to keep the box and it was nice in the back next to the golden leaf so I left it there, and again it fits really well.

And last of the last, Harry’s glasses that were from a costume that we had for so long. Even before I read the series, and I think the costume was my brother’s. And under that there is a Gryffindor coaster that I got from a bookshop when I bought the Cursed Child.

That is it, thanks for reading my post. Hope you liked it! And see you next time (I can’t really “see” you, but you get it πŸ˜‰ )!

giphy-18

Hello witches or wizards,

Here’s the second HARPs related post, it’s about my favorite books.

P1000353

My first books are from J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter. I know, shocker πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€

It’s about a boy that discovers he’s a wizard. (You know the story. πŸ˜‰ )

My second is the book from John Green, The Fault in Our Stars.

It’s a great book about a girl that has cancer and meets a boy that had cancer.

P1000347

My third favorite book is also from John Green, Paper Towns.

It’s about a boy that goes looking for the girl he’s in love with after she disappeared.

P1000348

My fourth favorite is from Nicola Moriarty, The Fifth Letter.

It’s a great book about four friends. Three of them write one letter, except one that writes two.

P1000355

My fifth favorite is from J.R.R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings.

It’s about a ring that has a lot of power and that has to be destroyed before it falls into the hand of the enemy.

P1000349

My sixth favorite is from Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson (the first one, I haven’t read the others yet)

It’s a great book about a boy that discovers that he’s a half-god and experiences many adventures.

P1000352

My seventh favorite is again from John Green, Looking for Alaska.

It’s about a boy looking for a girl. (I can’t say to much because I don’t wanna spoil anything)

P1000350

And finally, my eighth favorite is from John Green (I had a John Green period this year πŸ˜‰ :-D), Turtles all the way down.

It’s a great book about a girl that has difficulties with her mind and learns to control it.

I haven’t read this one yet but it’s the next one I’m gonna read:

P1000351

It’s from Karen M. McManus, One of Us is Lying.

It’s about five people that have detention, and one gets killed. Who killed him? (Don’t answer this question it’s just to make it exciting πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ )

Thank you Life Like a Galaxy GirlΒ for recommending this book. I really want to read it.

That was it. I hope you liked, πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€

PS: I don’t have any picture for The Fault in Our Stars because I lent it to a friend so she can read it.

HARPs contest – my passions

Hello witches or wizards,

Today’s post is another HARPs related post about my passions. This one is not totally Harry Potter related but still a fun post.

I’m going to tell you about all my passions, so here we go:

My first passion is reading. I love reading because it’s relaxing and it’s the moment that you got to yourself, you know what I mean? You can also be in another universe when you read and that’s really super.

P1000290P1000280

My second passion is writing. The people that read some things that I write often say that they like my stories. When I’m older I am going to write a book. I don’t really know why I love writing, I just do.

My third passion is dancing. I follow hip-hop lessons and I really like it. I have a concert in 4 weeks and I’m stressed about it but all I have to do is to concentrate on the music and dance. Then I’m sure that everything will be okay.

My fourth passion is photography. I got a camera for my birthday and I love it! I love taking pictures of the nature and my dogs. My parents also got me this camera because we’re going on a trip this summer and I can take beautiful photos with it.

And my fifth passion is blogging! Of course it’s one of my passions πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ , and especially thanks to you guys! You read my posts, give them a like and some of you write nice comments. We’re more then 100 witches and wizards here πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ . So thank you to all of you!

That was it, I hope you liked reading it.

QOTD: What are/is your passion(s)?

HARPs contest – Harry Potter happiness

Hello witches or wizards,

I’m participating at the Happy And Random Posts (HARPs) contest, and I’m really excited about it! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€

harps-featured-image

I’m going to try my best so that the posts will be Harry Potter related. And between these posts I will still post regular Harry Potter blog releases.

The topic of this weeks is:Β What you think happiness is.

For me happiness is, drumroll please…

Reading Harry Potter!

(It’s possible you may have expected something like that πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ )

Reading Harry Potter is one of the things happiness means to me. It means happiness to me because reading is one of my hobbies. When you read you can dive into a whole other universe. And when this universe is the wizarding world, reading is even more fun! J.K. Rowling is one of the best writers I know, and reading a good book is always great. Harry Potter also means a lot to me because of this blog

That was it, this was my first HARPs post and I hope you enjoyed reading it.

QOTD: What is happiness to you?
