O.W.L.s readathon

Hello witches or wizards,

So, about a month ago I saw a video from ReadbyzoeΒ (a great booktuber) where she was participating at an O.W.L.s April readathon that seemed really fun. I was really bummed I didn’t know about it and so couldn’t participate. But then I thought and was like, maybe I can just do it in July.

Everything will be the same, except that there won’t be any events. And I’ll post some updates about my reading during the whole month. You guys can let me know in the comments how your reading will be.

Here is how the readathon works: during one month you read as many books as you can/want. Each book comes from a Hogwarts class. For example: transfiguration = a book Β with sprayed edges or a red cover. Or ancient runes = a retelling. I’m just making one change, arithmancy is normally a work written by multiple authors. But I don’t own any books written by multiple authors or have any on my tbr. So, I changed that to arithmancy you can choose between a work written by more than one authors or a work with multiple points view.

Book Roast (the Booktuber who organized the whole readathon) made a file with all the wizarding careers possibilities there are. Per career possibility you need to pass a number of Hogwarts classes (by reading a book in the “theme”).

Here is the video from Book Roast where she explains everything. You should really check it out, there you can find and print the career file. She explains everything one more time really well and don’t forget, in this readathon there won’t be any events.

This readathon will take place from June 25th to July 25th.

If you haven’t done the readathon before you can do it with me for the first time and if you have, you can do it again and try out a new wizarding career.

If I’m not wrong there will also be the N.E.W.T.s in August, but that’s when I’m in holiday without any WIFI. If I have time, I’ll do it and will then post an update about it at the end of the month.

I hope you will all join me in this readathon!

Bye, -ChH

My Harry Potter Bookshelf

IMG_6846

Hello witches or wizards,

Today I’m presenting to you my Harry Potter bookshelf (I know, what a surprise, the title didn’t give it away at all πŸ˜‰ ).

So let’s start off with the books:

IMG_6848

First of, I know, I know, I don’t have the Crimes of Grindelwald screenplay. Who am I?! I’m just afraid that it won’t fit next to my other books, but I will buy it someday (I hope). There’s a second copy of the chamber of secrets on top of the rest of the books for no reason at all. I found it once, took it and put it on top of the books. Now it’s there and it doesn’t bother me, so I leave it there.

Now, we move on to the wands:

Of course I have Hermione’s wand, who’s shocked? No one, as I expected πŸ˜€ . I love that girl sooooo much, and her wand is beautiful! And then I have my wand, the one I got at the Universal Studio’s. I’ll cherish them both forever. πŸ˜‰

Next, we have the chocolate frog cards:

IMG_6851

When I bought Chocolate Frogs I was so happy because I got great cards as you can see. The ones I’m the most grateful for are the one with Helga Hufflepuff (of course, as a proud Hufflepuff πŸ˜‰ ) on it and the Albus Dumbledore one (of course, as a proud Hogwarts student πŸ˜‰ ). And it was actually quite interesting to receive the Bertie Bott card because not a lot of people have it.

After that there is a chocolate frog “box” (I don’t know how to call it):

I really like this one, it’s made out of ceramic and it’s really, really nice. I don’t have much to say about it. Of course it didn’t come with a chocolate frog or card in it, it’s just a display peace. But a really nice one.

And, lastly, I just have some bits and bots to show you that make up some of the details:

At the far left you can see a book holder (in the picture at the beginning of the post you can see that it’s on both sides of the books). When I saw it in the shop, I was thinking: “These ones are nice πŸ˜€ “. And when I was putting my shelf together it ended up there which I think is great because it fits well with the theme.

Next we have a keychain of Hermione that my mom managed to put there. I love Hermione and love this keychain so I’m really happy with it there.

Then we have the Ollivander box my wand came in. I wanted to keep the box and it was nice in the back next to the golden leaf so I left it there, and again it fits really well.

And last of the last, Harry’s glasses that were from a costume that we had for so long. Even before I read the series, and I think the costume was my brother’s. And under that there is a Gryffindor coaster that I got from a bookshop when I bought the Cursed Child.

That is it, thanks for reading my post. Hope you liked it! And see you next time (I can’t really “see” you, but you get it πŸ˜‰ )!

HARPs contest – favorite books

giphy-18

Hello witches or wizards,

Here’s the second HARPs related post, it’s about my favorite books.

P1000353

My first books are from J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter. I know, shocker πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€

It’s about a boy that discovers he’s a wizard. (You know the story. πŸ˜‰ )

My second is the book from John Green, The Fault in Our Stars.

It’s a great book about a girl that has cancer and meets a boy that had cancer.

P1000347

My third favorite book is also from John Green, Paper Towns.

It’s about a boy that goes looking for the girl he’s in love with after she disappeared.

P1000348

My fourth favorite is from Nicola Moriarty, The Fifth Letter.

It’s a great book about four friends. Three of them write one letter, except one that writes two.

P1000355

My fifth favorite is from J.R.R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings.

It’s about a ring that has a lot of power and that has to be destroyed before it falls into the hand of the enemy.

P1000349

My sixth favorite is from Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson (the first one, I haven’t read the others yet)

It’s a great book about a boy that discovers that he’s a half-god and experiences many adventures.

P1000352

My seventh favorite is again from John Green, Looking for Alaska.

It’s about a boy looking for a girl. (I can’t say to much because I don’t wanna spoil anything)

P1000350

And finally, my eighth favorite is from John Green (I had a John Green period this year πŸ˜‰ :-D), Turtles all the way down.

It’s a great book about a girl that has difficulties with her mind and learns to control it.

I haven’t read this one yet but it’s the next one I’m gonna read:

P1000351

It’s from Karen M. McManus, One of Us is Lying.

It’s about five people that have detention, and one gets killed. Who killed him? (Don’t answer this question it’s just to make it exciting πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ )

Thank you Life Like a Galaxy GirlΒ for recommending this book. I really want to read it.

That was it. I hope you liked, πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€

HARPs points: 19

PS: I don’t have any picture for The Fault in Our Stars because I lent it to a friend so she can read it.

Top 6 Fred and George moments

giphy-12.gif

Hello witches or wizards,

On the April Fools Day it was Fred and George’s birthday, so I’m going to write a post about them: “The Top 5 of Fred and George moments”.

Top 1: In the Order of the Phoenix, chapter 29.

When Fred and George had a big exit and professor Umbridge got so mad. They had turned the halls into a swamp. Harry said it became a legend in Hogwarts. πŸ˜‰

Top 2: In the Philosopher stone, chapter 12.

They were punished because they bewitched snowballs that followed professor Quirrell and bounced against the back off his turban. So actually against Voldemort’s head.

Top 3: In the Goblet of Fire, chapter 16.

When they took a potion to be a couple months older and they triedΒ to put there name in the Goblet of Fire. But they got rejected, and got long white beards.

Top 4: In the Prisoners of Azkaban, chapter 10.

They gave the Marauder’s map to Harry, that helped him a lot. They gave it to him as a friendship gesture (which I think is very kind). I also love it that they found the way to open it.

Top 5: In the Chamber of Secrets, chapter 3.

When they helped Harry to escape from the Dursleys. They took the flying Ford Angelia and drove it when actually they’re only 14 years old.

Top 6: In the Half Blood Prince, chapter 6

They open their shopΒ Weasleys’ Wizarding Wheezes and made their dream come true. They sold lots of funny stuff and were the most popular shop in Diagon Alley. I hope one day I could go there. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€

That’s it, I hope you liked it. I love that J.K. Rowling added Fred and George in the books because they always make me laugh.

QOTD: Which was your favorite moment?

Bye, -ChH

Hey! I’m back! ;-) :-D

Hello witches, or wizards, as you can see I’m back! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜‰

giphy-5

I didn’t have time to write these last days, but I’m here now and I’m going to write about the cursed child.

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor cursed child

I’ve read it a long time ago, but now I’m going to criticize it.

The book and story were different from the other Harry Potter books. Because you see in one book how Albus grows up. I like that (spoiler alert πŸ˜€ πŸ˜‰ ) Scorpius is saving the magical world. Because I really like Scorpius, he’s one of my favorite characters. I also totally ship Rosius Β (Rose and Scorpius). πŸ˜‰ ❀

In the story I really think that the reasons why Albus is mad at Harry are really stupid. I think that Albus had a bad reaction, but I also think that he reacts like that because he feels like the black sheep.

I thought it wasn’t as bad as some people say it is, the story was pretty good. Of course I prefer the other Harry Potter , but that is because it’s written differently.

That’s it, you can let me a comment by saying what you would like that I write about.

Harry Potter theory: The Deathly Hallows is symbolic of all the books

Hello witches, or wizards, today I am going to write about the ‘The Deathly Hallows is symbolic of all the books’ theory.

The theory is that some events that happened in the previous books, happen all over again at the end in the fight.

You’ll have to watch the video, to understand the rest:

You can see that they fight a huge troll first, just like in the first book.

3268200840_1_2_bolpcGxY

Then they’re attacked by lots of spiders.

images

Then there comes a werewolf in the story.

RemusLupin_WB_F3_ConceptOfLupinInForestAsAWerewolf_Illust_080615_Land

And as last they’re attacked by dementors.

images-1.jpeg

So this theory means that they evolved in all this years. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€

I didn’t make this theory, but I think it’s a really good one. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜‰

I don’t think it’s done on purpose, but maybe it is.

That’s all, thanks for reading my blog release. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€
