International Women’s Day

Hello witches or wizards,

First of all, thanks for hitting 200 subscribers with me! I’m so grateful!

And second, I know what you might be thinking. ‘International women’s day? That’s not Harry Potter related.’. If you’re thinking this, you must be new. Hello and welcome to my blog! I know you’re new because you don’t know yet that I can make everythingย Harry Potter related.

International women’s day was Friday, so I’m making a post about it ๐Ÿ˜€

Let’s start off with a fun fact about a great brave woman, Nymphadora Tonks! Nymphadora comes from the two Greek words numphรช which means “the young girl” and dรดron which means “the gift”. So, her name literally means “the young girl with the gift”. And in theย Greco-Romanย mythology the word numphรช (in Latin nympha) refers to the nymphs. So Nymphadora actually has a beautiful name, even if sheย doesn’t think so.

Another interesting fact about a website called bechdeltest.comย . This test is about measuring equal representation of women in movies. To pass the test the movie has to have at least two (named) women in it who talk to each other about something besides a man. You may think that almost all movies have that conversation, but unfortunately that’s not true. For example the Harry Potter movies (not books) do not fall under that category.

For me, personally, one of the things I love the most in the Harry Potter books are the female characters. Like, of course, Hermione Granger, Luna Lovegood, Nymphadora Tonks, Ginny Weasley, Molly Weasley, Lily Evans and lots of other girls/women.

And we could never forget that the person that invented and created this whole world was a great and feminist woman!

That was it for today, I hope you enjoyed reading my post! And happy international women’s day (’cause really it’s every day ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) โค

HARPs contest – my passions

Hello witches or wizards,

Today’s post is another HARPs related post about my passions. This one is not totally Harry Potter related but still a fun post.

I’m going to tell you about all my passions, so here we go:

My first passion is reading. I love reading because it’s relaxing and it’s the moment that you got to yourself, you know what I mean? You can also be in another universe when you read and that’s really super.

My second passion is writing. The people that read some things that I write often say that they like my stories. When I’m older I am going to write a book. I don’t really know why I love writing, I just do.

My third passion is dancing. I follow hip-hop lessons and I really like it. I have a concert in 4 weeks and I’m stressed about it but all I have to do is to concentrate on the music and dance. Then I’m sure that everything will be okay.

My fourth passion is photography. I got a camera for my birthday and I love it! I love taking pictures of the nature and my dogs. My parents also got me this camera because we’re going on a trip this summer and I can take beautiful photos with it.

And my fifth passion is blogging! Of course it’s one of my passions ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€ , and especially thanks to you guys! You read my posts, give them a like and some of you write nice comments. We’re more then 100 witches and wizards here ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€ . So thank you to all of you!

That was it, I hope you liked reading it.

QOTD: What are/is your passion(s)?

HARPs contest – Harry Potter collection

Hello witches or wizards,

In my previous post I said I had two Harry Potter related ideas of the theme ‘Take us on a tour’. (You can click here to read my first idea.) In this post I’ll show you the second one.

I’m going to take you on a tour of my Harry Potter collection (which is still growing).

1: My books. The Harry Potter books, and also the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them books are all on my bookshelf.

2: A little Hufflepuff notebook that I got from a friend. You read “Poufsouffle” instead of “Hufflepuff”, because she gave it to me in French. But I think it’s really nice of her that she gave me that notebook. I think I’m going to buy me some more of those for school (but the bigger size).

3: A little Hermione Granger Pop that I had as key hanger, but that now I use as decoration. I personally think it’s really cute. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€

4: My Hufflepuff scarf that I love wearing in winter. โค

5: My golden snitch necklace that I think is so nice to wear any time I want (I wrote a post about it that you can read here).

6: And last but not least, my 9 and 3/4 earrings that go with everything.

That was it, I hope you enjoyed reading my post. I also have Hermione’s wand, but it seems that I misplaced it (I’m still searching).

HARPs contest – Harry Potter places

Hello witches and wizards,

Today I’m posting a HARPs related post. And this week the topic is ‘Take us on a tour’. So I thought and said to myself: ‘What kind of Harry Potter related tour can I do?’ And I had two ideas. In this post I’ll show you one of them.

I’m going to take you all on a “Harry Potter places” tour. A tour of all the Harry Potter places I would like to visit, where you can go and have some Harry Potter quality time.

Place 1: Theater of the Cursed Child, London and Brooklyn.

I would like one day to go and watch the Cursed Child in London or Brooklyn. It’s different to watch the characters play the story, than reading the script. It’s definitely on my bucket list. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€

Place 2: Kings Cross station, London.

I never went to London, but I one day I will go and do a Harry Potter trip. Kings Cross station would be really fun to visit. That’s where Harry meets Ron, and lots of important things happened there. I love Kings Cross because the station is really in the books.

Place 3: Warner Bros studio tour, London.

I kind of already did this one because I saw the exhibition. But I think it’s still different, and still nice to visit. You can see the decors, the costumes and lots of other making off things. It really sounds fun to visit.

Place 4: Alnwick castle, Edinburgh.

One of my friends (also a Potterhead) actually went there and said it was really great.ย I would really like to go to Edinburgh and go visit the castle. You can do Harry Potter related stuff there with broomsticks and everything.

Place 5: The Wizarding world of Harry Potter, Hollywood, Orlando and Japan.

I’m so happy that I can tell you that I’m going there this summer!! It’s an amazing world where you really feel like you’re in the wizarding world. You can do lots of Harry Potter activities, like get your wand at Ollivanders, eat at the three broomsticks,…

Place 6: The Elephant House, Edinburgh.

This where J.K. Rowling wrote most of the books. You can take your notebook, laptop, whatever you want, and start writing. You’ll feel just like her. ๐Ÿ˜‰ And you can get a coffee, ย it’s a cute coffee place. I would love to go there.

That was it, I hope you enjoyed reading my post. We reached 100 followers! Thank you to all of you! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€

P.S. Here is also a good post about six Harry Potter places to visit while you’re in Edinburgh. ๐Ÿ˜€

HARPs contest – Harry Potter happiness

Hello witches or wizards,

I’m participating at the Happy And Random Posts (HARPs) contest, and I’m really excited about it! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m going to try my best so that the posts will be Harry Potter related. And between these posts I will still post regular Harry Potter blog releases.

The topic of this weeks is:ย What you think happiness is.

For me happiness is, drumroll please…

Reading Harry Potter!

(It’s possible you may have expected something like that ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€ )

Reading Harry Potter is one of the things happiness means to me. It means happiness to me because reading is one of my hobbies. When you read you can dive into a whole other universe. And when this universe is the wizarding world, reading is even more fun! J.K. Rowling is one of the best writers I know, and reading a good book is always great. Harry Potter also means a lot to me because of this blog

That was it, this was my first HARPs post and I hope you enjoyed reading it.

QOTD: What is happiness to you?

House related activities you can do

Hello witches and wizards,

This week I thought it would be a good idea to do a blog post about “house related activities you can do”, so here it is.

You can find a nice cozy place, take a nice book, and start reading. You could begin, finish, or continue your book. When you read you dive into a great story. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Besides, who doesn’t like reading? Or, because Ravenclaws are creative, you can make a fun scrapbook with many pictures. It will remind you of fun memories, and would be a fun moment.

You can play games. I know it sounds a little bit easy. But Slytherins are ambitious and if they want to win the game they will, and it will make their day a good day. And the one who loses could cook the next day or something like that. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Besides, who doesn’t like playing games?

I got this idea because I was doing my house-related activity. You can go to the market and buy plants and flowers. Then when you come home you can work in the garden: plant the flowers, water the plants, etc. It’s really nice when you do that on a sunny day. But you can also plant a flower in a flower pot when it’s raining outside or you can organise a really nice bouquet of flowers. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And Gryffindors:

Because you guys are brave, here’s a little challenge: dance, act, sing in front of people and improvise. It could be a funny moment. And maybe some of you aren’t that comfortable dancing, singing or acting in front of people, well in that case you need to be brave. ย You can give yourself some fun little challenges (no risky challenges) and it could be fun.

That was it, I hope you liked it. I really enjoyed making this post. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€
